Big River Running Company is excited to announce its very own Marathon/Half Marathon Class!!!

Big River Co-Owner Ben Rosario will be conducting Marathon 101, a three-session clinic for those of you interested in training for the Spirit of St. Louis Marathon or Half Marathon. The class is also designed to prepare you for any other Spring Marathon.

MARATHON 101 - January 23, Feb 20, March 20, 2007

Each session will cover topics prevalent to that particular phase of your training.

- Winter Training

Session 2 - Tuesday February 20, 7:00pm
- Nutrition
- Hydration
- The importance of Pace
- Dealing with Fatigue

Session 3 - Tuesday March 20, 7:00pm
- The Taper
- Race Day Checklist
- Anything & Everything Q & A with Ben Rosario and Mike Nelson (Head Track and Field Coach at St. Louis University). Between them, Ben and Mike have completed 12 marathons and will answer all of those last minute questions!

Your Professor:

Ben Rosario has completed seven Marathons including the Twin Cities Marathon, two LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathons, and the 2004 US Olympic Trials. He has a personal best of 2 hours 18 minutes, 53 seconds and was ranked in the top 20 in the country in 2005. He also has a Half Marathon best of 1:06:05. He is currently training for the Chevron Houston Marathon in January of 2007 and will then begin preparations for next fall's 2008 Olympic Trials in New York City.

Who is this class for?

Marathon 101 is for anyone who is training for a Half Marathon or a Full Marathon this spring, especially those preparing for the Spirit of St. Louis. All sessions will be particularly helpful for beginners but will also benefit those looking to improve their times and set a personal best.

Cost:

Marathon 101 is $75 and includes all three sessions, a free training log, 2 weekly organized group runs (including a sunday long run) and a moisture-wicking Big River Running Company shirt/singlet.
