Big River Rankings #4 - 10.04.06 ( last week's ranking in parenthesis) TOP 10 GIRLS TEAMS #1) JEFFERSON CITY (1) – The Lady Jays went 1-5-7-10-11 at the Grandview Invitational and nearly perfect scored at Springfield the week before. #2) MARQUETTE (4) – Second place at Rim Rock climbs them back up the charts. #3) LIBERTY (2) – Six points back of Marquette at Rim Rock. #4) EUREKA (5) – A dominant win at Ladue's Ron Jorgensen Invite. #5) BLUE SPRINGS (NR) – Only 18 points back of Jeff City at Grandview . #6) NOTRE DAME DE SION (NR) – A big win at Parkway West over a tough field, this team is rounding into the form that it showed at the end of last year. #7) LINDBERGH (7) – Second place at Jorgensen to Eureka . #8) ROCK BRIDGE (3) – Fourth at Parkway West without Borduin. Their score would have been much different. #9) LEBANON (8) – They drop only because Notre Dame De Sion and Blue Springs looked so good. #10) HERCULANEUM (NR) - Second place at Cowboy Jamboree in the 2A race to a very solid Plainview (TX) team. ***HONORABLE MENTION: Rockwood Summit (7), Ste. Genevieve (10)
TOP 10 BOYS TEAMS #1) POTOSI (1) – Smokin' fast times at Hancock proving that it doesn't matter when or where these guys race (or who) they are going to roll. Let's hope they move up in the Heartland rankings as well. #2) FORT ZUMWALT SOUTH (2) - Big win at Rim Rock with only 59 points. Their top 4 go out hard and just dare anyone to hang with them #3) SLUH (3)– Backed up their #3 ranking with a second place finish at Rim Rock. #4) LEE'S SUMMIT NORTH (4) – Just one point back of SLUH at Rim Rock. These two squads should have quite the battle the first weekend in November. #5) BLUE SPRINGS (6) – Second at KC Metro and first at Parkway West. This team has a habit of running well at the end of the year. #6) ROCK BRIDGE (10) – Just two points back of Blue Springs at Parkway West led by another incredible run from Phillip King. #7) CBC (NR) - Dan Quigley's back and these guys are for real as they showed with their fourth place at Rim Rock. We predicted this in the preseason by the way! #8) LIBERTY (NR) – Back in the top ten after a fifth place showing at Rim Rock. #9) MARQUETTE (7) – Sixth at Rim Rock for this up-and-coming team. #10) LEE'S SUMMIT WEST (NR) – Won the second biggest division at Rim Rock and finished fourth at KC Metro. *** HONORABLE MENTION: Parkway South (NR)
