Big River Rankings #3 - 9.19.06 ( last week's ranking in parenthesis) TOP 10 GIRLS TEAMS #1) JEFFERSON CITY (7)– Dominated at the Paul Enke Invitational on the hilly Sioux Passage course. We had these ladies seventh last week but their strength up front puts them number one this week. #2) LIBERTY (1) - Won big at the Roosevelt Invitational ( Iowa ) over several solid teams from Iowa and Nebraska . Lee's Summit North was third. #3) ROCK BRIDGE (2) – Didn't have a huge day at the Stampede but their performance at Forest Park was too good to drop them down. #4) MARQUETTE (3) – Did not run their top seven this week. We'll see them at Fox this coming Friday. #5) EUREKA (6) – The Wildcats have a very strong squad and looked good at the Southern Stampede, finishing third behind good teams from Kansas and Arkansas . #6) LINDBERGH (NR) – A great pack race led them to a win over Rockwood Summit at Parkway Central. #7) ROCKWOOD SUMMIT (4) – Second to Jeff City at Paul Enke Invite. #8) LEBANON (NR)– We missed this team in our first two rankings. Their fourth place at the Southern Stampede puts them ninth here. #9) LEE'S SUMMIT NORTH (NR)– Third at the Roosevelt Invitational ( Iowa ) showing a big 1-2 punch. #10) STE. GENEVIEVE (10) – Impressive 24 point win at the Bowles Invite. ***HONORABLE MENTION: We don't always do this but the girls are so deep this year which meant things got shuffled this week and the decisions were really tough so we thought there were a few other teams that deserved a mention: Blue Springs (9), West Plains (5), Lee's Summit West (8), Herculaneum
TOP 10 BOYS TEAMS #1) POTOSI (1) – Another big win, this time at the Southern Stampede and with some smoking fast times. #2) FORT ZUMWALT SOUTH (2) - Big win at the Paul Enke Invitational. #3) SLUH (3)– Notched their first win of the season at the Midwest Jesuit Invitational. #4) LEE'S SUMMIT NORTH (8) – Finished first at the Roosevelt Invitational ( Iowa ) with a good 1-5 spread of only 55 seconds. #5) OAK PARK (6) – Up a notch to number five. #6) BLUE SPRINGS (NR) – Finished second to Potosi at the Stampede with a sub 17 average. #7) MARQUETTE (7) – Off week for the top seven. #9) LEE'S SUMMIT (NR) - Just six points back of Blue Springs at the Stampede. #10) ROCK BRIDGE (4) – Not sure what happened at the Stampede, they will most likely climb back up next time out. *** HONORABLE MENTION: The boys rankings were a little easier than the girls this week but there were a couple of teams who got a lot of consideration: CBC (10), Parkway South (NR), Liberty (5)
INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS All season long (though maybe not as often as the team rankings) we will try to keep an eye out for the top 15 runners in the State. Again, these are the top 15 regardless of Class. It is a lot easier to miss a runner or two so we apologize if we shorted you or your teammate. Feel free to email us at info@bigriverrunning.com if you know someone who should be on the Big River Top 15. Enjoy!!
