RACE DETAILS

The Skippo began in 2009 as a 20k trail race in beautiful Castlewood State Park that featured two 10k loops on a fairly flat course except, of course, for the famous stairs! The first two years of the event were a huge success but it was time for a few changes in 2011. We wanted to involve as many runners as possible so we added two more options, the 10k and the 30k. The 10k is a great choice for beginning trail runners, the 20k is a perfect option for those of you who like the half marathon distance and the 30k is an awesome option for the marathoners or even the ultra-marathon types looking for a "short" race! In 2013 due to the overwhelming popularity and recent state parks legislation the event will shift to a two-day event to accommodate more participants.
