  • Detour Notice - Highway 64/40 will be closed this weekend

    A new interchange at Tower Grove and Boyle is being built and replacing four bridges that span the highway.

    When the interstate is closed on Feb. 1, drivers traveling westbound on Highway 64/40 will have to turn off the highway at Forest Park Avenue and follow it to Kingshighway. Turn left on Kingshighway and enter the park. Follow the signs to Central Ball Fields (#7 on this map) Eastbound travelers will be diverted from the highway at Hampton Avenue (which is where you'd enter the park anyway).

  • MoDOT will close all lanes and ramps on Highway 64/40 in both directions between Kingshighway and Forest Park at 8pm on Friday Feb. 1st. The highway will reopen by 3am on Monday Feb. 4th.

3-TIME U.S. OLYMPIAN DATHAN RITZENHEIN TO COMPETE IN UPCOMING USA CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

THE NIKE-SPONSORED STAR IS COMING OFF A 2:07 MARATHON THIS PAST FALL

ST. LOUIS – Jan. 24, 2013 – In just nine days, the USA Cross Country Championships will take place at Forest Park’s Central Fields on Saturday, Feb. 2.  The meet features eight different races including the Men's and Women's Open Divisions which will feature several U.S. Olympians. 

The men's field now includes three-time Olympian and three-time USA Cross Country Champion, Dathan Ritzenhein, who recently became the third-fastest American marathoner of all-time when he ran 2:07:47 at this fall's Bank of America Chicago Marathon. Ritzenhein has excelled in cross country throughout his career, having won the NCAA Cross Country title in college as well as a bronze medal at the 2001 IAAF World Junior Championships. He also captured back-to-back Foot Locker National High School titles in 1999 and 2000.

OLYMPIC MEDALIST DEENA KASTOR RETURNS TO ST. LOUIS TO COMPETE IN UPCOMING USA CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

REGISTRATION OPEN FOR PUBLIC 4K RACES COINCIDING WITH THE EVENT

ST. LOUIS – Jan. 22, 2013 – National titles in cross country will be on the line in St. Louis in two weeks.  The USA Cross Country Championships, one of the nation’s most prestigious running events, takes place at Forest Park’s Central Fields on Saturday, Feb. 2.  Races will feature many of the country’s elite and Olympic runners.

The field includes 2004 Olympic bronze medalist Deena Kastor, who returns to the site where her 2004 Olympic Medal journey began. She was a silver medalist at the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials in Forest Park. Kastor is the American record holder in the 8K, 12K, 15K, 10-mile, 20K, half marathon and marathon.
