Tuesday 9.5.10 at 10:59pm. There is a $100 fee for late entries. Payment is due BY MEET DAY and all payment info can be found on HERE.

Each team may send up to 9 runners to the line in the varsity divisions. The Junior Varsity, Freshman, and Middle School Divisions are unlimited. Team scoring will be invitational style with the places of the top five finishers for each team comprising the team score. Six and seven runners count as pushers, all others are taken out of team scoring but can receive individual medals. THERE IS NO NEED to designate your entries as varsity, JV or freshman. Just send them to the line for the correct race and the chips will take care of the rest!

Payment Information:

All Payments are due BEFORE the start of the meet! We have to be strict this year on payments. It is unfair to everyone who pays on time when teams wait six months or more to turn in their payment. COACHES - If your payment has not been received when you pick up your packet on race morning you will be asked to write a personal check in order for your team to be allowed to compete. If your school needs an invoice please email Joe Porter at jporter@sluh.org and he will send one immediately.

The meet entry fee is $125 per team or $200 for combined boy's and girl's teams. Each team may enter up to 9 runners in the varsity division. JV and Freshman races have unlimited entries. Any team with more than 35 total athletes (single sex) competing in the meet will pay an additional flat fee of $50.

REMEMBER that middle schools are considered separate teams. The Middle School rate is $60 per team or $100 for combined boys and girls teams. So if School "A" has a high school boys and girls team and a middle school boys and girls team they owe $300.

Please make all checks payable to Saint Louis University High School and send to:

Joe Porter
Saint Louis University High School
4970 Oakland Ave

All payment should be postmarked no later than 9.6.11. If you have not yet sent in payment please bring it with you to the meet on Saturday morning.

Course:

The course will be the same as it was in 2011. We will have detailed hand-drawn maps available in your race packets. Click HERE for the course map. The map shows the entire 2k loop. The 5k course will include an additional 1k loop that will essentially cover the last 1k of the 2k loop. Click HERE for a hand-drawn version of the course map that includes the 1k loop. The course will be painted and ready to go on Friday September 9th. Coaches please feel free to visit the course the week leading up to the race.

Awards:

The top two teams in each race will receive plaques. The top 25 individuals in each race will receive medals.

The awards ceremony schedule is as follows:

8:30- Open Race
9:45- JV Boys
10:55- JV Girls
Noon- Varsity Boys
1:05- Varsity Girls
2:00- Freshman and Middle School

USA Cross Country Championships:

We are excited to announce that Saint Louis will host the 2012 and 2013 USA Cross Country Championships on the very same course used for the Forest Park Cross Country Festival! The Championships feature Mens and Womens Open and Masters races as well as Mens and Womens Junior Divisions (19 and under). The 2012 Championships will take place on Saturday February 11 and will feature some of the Nation's best distance runners. Past champions at this meet include Shalane Flanagan, Adam Goucher, Deena Kastor, Meb Keflezighi, Bob Kennedy and Dathan Ritzenhein.

Stay tuned for more info on the Championships as we get closer to the big day. There will be an open race the day of the meet so you will be able to compete on the same course and in the same conditions as the pros!

The 2009 event saw more than 2,000 athletes from more than 50 schools participate in the Festival. The meet relies on its sponsors to create a first-class event for St. Louis. If you would like to receive a sponsor package with more details please email Ben Rosario at ben@bigriverrunning.com or call 314.832.2400.

Directions/Parking:

The Forest Park Cross Country Festival is proud to call Forest Park home. Located in the center of Saint Louis, the park is home to several area landmarks including the St. Louis Science Center and the nationally-recognized St. Louis Zoo. The race course is located entirely on the Central Ball Fields. Coming from Highway 44 (64/40 is under construction) you enter the park from Hampton via the Hampton Ave. exit. Turn right on Wells Dr. and continue on Wells until you hit the fields. There is parking around the entire perimeter of the fields as well as on the nearby upper Muny parking lot. CLICK HERE for a park map.

Volunteers:

The Forest Park Cross Country Festival is always looking for volunteers who would like to serve as course marshals, packet pick-up crew, concession stand workers, etc. Interested in helping out? Sign up HERE.
