Fall 2007 Segment
2007 ended on a high note as I gained a lot of momentum over the course of the fall months leading up to the club cross country championships in Ohio. There I was the 4th man on the team finishing just a few placed back from the year before in a much stronger field this year.
Coming off a good training segment after clubs, we decided to jump in some indoor track meets to see if the old legs could still turnover. Ben and I raced a mile at the Mizzouri Invitational in early January and again two weeks later at the Terrier Classic Mile in Boston. I was thrilled to run as well as I did at Mizzou and blown away by my PR at the Terrier! All I can say of the performances is that putting in the miles over the years has really paid off. I was training 4 times as hard in college as I am now yet I was able to set a PR in the Mile of all races. The only real difference from then and now is all the strength I have gained over the past 5 years of running lots of miles (lots of miles for me at least:)
As for my daily training log, I have moved it to the new Big River Community Page. I find it much easier to post my daily training and it does all the work for me by calculating my mileage, keeps track of my shoes (mileage), and allows me to download my training log if I ever need a hard copy. If you keep a log or are interested in keeping one, sign up for ours. It's free and a great training tool, and you can keep up with me and my training! Big River Community Page
