Matt's Training Log - Fall 2007 Segment

Spring 2006 Segment: March - June
Summer 2006 Segment: July - September
Fall 2006 Segment: October - December
Winter 2007 Segment: January - March

2007 has been a great year for me in terms of fitness and working out, however running has not been at the top of the list the entire time. In June I left the store and St. Louis for a month to lead some adventure trips in Southern Utah/Arizona for Backroads (my former job, before Big River). There I spent most of my days hiking and cycling through the red rocks of Bryce Canyon, Zion and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and doing some canyoneering in my spare time.

I returned in July refreshed and ready to get back to business. My goal for the rest of the year has to do with returning to the USATF Club Cross Country Championships in December and placing higher than I did last year. Sincs getting back my trianing has been doing pretty well. I've been running 6 days a week on most weeks and my long run is up to 13 miles. From here on out I'm going to keep more of a blog than a log in the way that I'm not going to keep a day to day log but post when I have something to share. So enjoy, and I apologize for not posting in over 4 months!!

Friday 8.31 - Ran in Knoxville TN, 5 miles. I've been driving cross country over the past two days helping my girlfriend move back to St. Louis. We stayed with her aunt and uncle last night and I ran from their farm in the morning. I felt really good on my run and negative split by almost 1.5 minutes on the way back.

Thanks for visiting!
