TRAIL DESCRIPTION: Hike the three miles of paved trails through 112 acres of majestic forest. The sloping rocky woods are a haven of beautiful wildflowers, towering trees and tangled vines. Each season renews the landscape and a frame of mind as you wander the trails. Special note: Pets, jogging, and bikes are not allowed on the trails.

WHY WE LIKE IT: Powder Valley, just minutes from the store, is an ideal place to go for a challenging walk. The many hills give walkers a chance to push themselves to the next fitness level. The tranquil wooded setting is a great place to escape. Powder Valley is a favorite walking destination for many of our Big River walking customers.

DIRECTIONS: From the intersection of Interstates 44 & 270, take Watson Rd. to Geyer Rd. Turn north on Geyer for 200 yds. to Cragwold Rd. Go west on Cragwold for 1 mi. to nature center entrance on right.

Located nearby, 1/2 mile from the Nature Center, is Emmengeger Park. The park is 108 acres of forested hills overlooking the Meremac River.
