Drew Wyant - former Columbus Running Company Intern (We're way better than them!)

Drew is a good-looking guy (see right) but he is much more than just a pretty face. He can also fit shoes with the best of 'em. He was learned on the tough streets of suburban Ohio by Jim Jurcevich and the crew at the CRC as a young un-paid intern. Now he's bringing in the big bucks working for Big River part-time while he finishes his masters degree at SIUE. Ladies- don't even ask...he's taken.

FUN STUFF

Favorite Movie: Moulin Rouge. I don't think I need to explain my choice, this is simply the best movie ever made. I still get goosebumps everytime Ewan McGregor sings. I also enjoy The Boondock Saints, V for Vendetta, A Knights Tale, and the cartoon classic A Goofy Movie.

Favorite Food: Cocoa Dynobites. You may know them as Cocoa Krispies, but bag cereals are all that fit into my graduate school budget. A close contender is Chocolate Marshallow Mateys. This new release is chock full of cocoa puffs and knock of Lucky Charms marshmallows. Cereal probably makes up 50% of my diet. The rest is filled with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and pancakes.

Who's your idol?: This is hard because I am still so young and impressionable. In the running world it is a mix of hard working, high mileage monsters such as Brian Sell, Josh McDougal, and Josh Ordway. I really admire their work ethic and determination, and try to apply it to my own running as often as possible. In the real world I would have to say my dad for many of the same reasons. He is incredibly hard working and has helped me get to where I am today. And finally, Ewan McGregor, if I could sing the Elephant Medley like him I could die happy.

What is your favorite running moment? My favorite running moment is getting fifth place in the 2006 SCAC cross country championships. Getting fifth may seem like an odd favorite moment, but when the four people that beat you are your teammates it adds up to 15 points, and my most memorable running moment. Second would be my senior year cross country season. In the summer I decided I no longer wanted to be a mediocre college runner, so I jacked up my mileage, trained harder and smarter than I ever had, and accomplished my goal of qualifying for the Division III national cross country meet.

What is your guilty pleasure?: I am a pretty shameless person so thinking of a guilty pleasure is tough for me. But I will go with the TV show “Crossing Jordan”. This show makes 1-3:00 on Monday through Friday one of the best times of day for me. If the box set of the series exists, it is definitely on my Christmas wish-list.

Place you would like to visit: This is a tough one too, as my traveling experiences are pretty limited. I'd have to say Ireland or New Zealand . I don't really have any specific reasons, and sheep aren't my favorite animals or anything, they just seem like cool places to be.
