Short term goals: With one Ironman under my belt my crazy training partners talked me into doing another one, so back to Louisville I go! Long term goal:Stay healthy and be as energetic as the kids I coach. Katie is currently the assistant cross country and track and field coach at her alma mater, Cor Jesu Academy. She also has fun coaching 6th graders through the Girls on the Run program. She enjoys racing on the local scene and enjoys competing in triathlons. |

JASON KESSELRING
Favorite Place to Train: I have a little route incorporating the River Des Peres Trail, Carondelet Park , and the Christy Greenway that I really like. Nothing beats the fall colors if you detour to Wilmore and Francis Park and then head to the River Des Peres Trail. Favorite Breakfast Cereal: Healthy-Cheerios. Not healthy-Cocoa Puffs List the Most Played Song on Your Ipod/Radio: Elevation (Tomb Raider Mix) – U2 or Sweet Virginia – the Rolling Stones Who's Better Superman or Batman: I'm not a comic book/superhero type of guy. They are both pretty scary and clearly have issues. I think counseling would help both guys. Fact or Fiction, the 80's rocked? Aside from the 1982 World Series, the Joshua Tree tour, and the fall of communism (which was largely due the Soviet Union's inability to keep up with our own deficit spending rather than any real U.S. policy, but I digress), face it, the 80s stunk. Short Term Goals (2009 and 2010): Long Term Goals (2011 and beyond): -In college, I raced every distance on the track except the 200 meters (100m to 10K, including indoor distances)

Favorite Movie: Favorite Place to Train: Favorite Breakfast Cereal: List the Most Played Song on Your Ipod or Radio: Who's Better Superman or Batman? Fact or Fiction, the 80's Rocked? Short Term Goals: Long Term Goals: Interesting Fact About me: I started physical therapy recently to straighten out a misaligned jaw, but it turns out that being off-balance up there leads to imbalances in your neck, shoulders, back, hips, knees, etc. They are also planning to “teach me how to breathe” (oddly enough, I thought I had that one down), so maybe we'll see some improvement in my running when it's all said and done! |

JEFF BROWN
Short-term goal: PRs in every distance during 2007 (hey, aim high). Run a 1:45 or better half to qualify for the "D" corral at Chicago. Put in proper training and give myself every opportunity for success at the 2007 Chicago Marathon. Long-term goal: Remain consistent with my training in order to see how well I can truly do in the races. Teach my kids to love running and racing. After an undistinguished high school track and CC career, Jeff went on to an equally forgettable college and post-college career as an on-again, off-again runner (note obvious gaps in the PRs above!). After getting older and gaining way too much weight following the 2005 Chicago Marathon, Jeff decided to return to the streets, found Big River, and has already set new PRs for the 5M and ½ marathon! |

PR's (new-school – the “older and fatter” years: 1997- present):
High School: College: Short Term Goals: Jordan teaches English, Health, and occasionally Physical Education at Farmington High School . He's also the head boys and girls Cross Country coach as well as an assistant Track & Field coach (working exclusively with the boys and girls distance runners). He's been running since he went out for track as a 7 th grader back in 1986. While his focus these days is much more on his coaching than it is his own personal running goals, he continues to race as much as possible. His biggest issue with running (at least with running fast) these days is his weight, which usually hovers around 175, a full 30 pounds heavier than his emaciated, yet much quicker self did in the mid-90's! He resides in Festus with his wife Angie, his daughter Kerensa, and his two chihuahua's, Bean and Peanut.
