Interesting Fact about me: I have raced in the same 3 pairs of socks (my lucky socks) in almost every race since I was 15 years old. They are awesome, one pair has smiley faces, one has red flowers, and one has purple flowers. Yes, I wash them, and no they don't have any holes. Yes, almost all of my bad races I didn't have them on.
